A District Court has ordered video-sharing site YouTube to submit users’ viewing histories to Viacom Inc.

Viacom, who are suing YouTube in a billion-dollar copyright claim, say the records are necessary to prove copyright violation. YouTube and privacy advocates have scorned the decision, claiming it constitutes a dire breach of user privacy.
